Our mom has been a resident at Luther Home for over 2 yrs. This home is staffed with very caring,cheerful people. We are always greeted with smiles and nice comments. A yearly family meeting is very informative and held with all her care givers. The meals are very nutritious and well balanced. The facility is clean. There are programs and activities offered.

The Westwood clinic staff are great. I have been going to Dr. Blake in there for a long time and he is exceptional. I had corneal abrasion in my right and I phoned and he just happened to be in Winnipeg then and they got me in that afternoon. He went above and beyond the call of duty and sent me to an ophthalmologist after that just to make sure that he saw what Dr. Blake saw and he did and that Doctor gave me eyedrops and it cleared up in 3 days.

Dr. Barron performed (2) knee replacements 6 months apart in 2016.
I can't begin to praise this man enough. Prior to surgery I had second thoughts about going through with this operation. The constant pain while walking left me with no choice but to go ahead. Come home to history! Dalnavert, a beautifully restored, late Victorian residence, is the former home of Sir Hugh John Macdonald, a premier of Manitoba and the son of John A. Macdonald, Canada's first prime minister. Named after the family's ancestral home in Scotland, Dalnavert is one of Western Canada's finest examples of Queen Anne Revival Architecture and has been designated a National and Provincial Historic Site. Designed to embody Victorian values, Dalnavert also incorporated the cutting-edge technology of 1895, including central heat, indoor plumbing, a telephone and electric lights. Continuing that theme, the new 5,000 square foot Visitors' Centre is a "green building" utilizing features such as geothermal heat, recycled/reclaimed materials and straw board construction.
Today, Bailey's Restaurant Building still stands strong within the historic Exchange District at 185 Lombard Avenue. Built in 1900 by banker W.F. Alloway, this building has been home to a parade of business tenants including the Manitoba Hospital Commission, Manitoba Health Services and even Great West Life until it was finally converted into a restaurant in 1971. Known then as Oliver's Restaurant and the Old Bailey's Lounge, some say its hospitable architecture attracted the attention of the Manitoba's early Progressive Conservative Party and served as its club. Here, members could relax, enjoy fellowship and contemplate the Party's future. Today, century-old ghosts may still cross the threshold of Bailey's stately oak doors and mingle with its friendly staff and guests. They, like you, are infinitely welcome, since even after almost four decades, Bailey's management and staff sincerely appreciate the opportunity to serve you.
