Kirsten and Keiran met while working in the kitchen at the Opus Hotel, and the rest, they say, is history. Wanting to unite their skills and their love for good food, they opened The Sweet Spot in the fall of 2010. With Keiran's wealth of knowledge on the savoury side and Kirsten's years of experience with pastry, they wanted to create a unique and gourmet shop filled with quality products. Using local and organic ingredients when possible, they put care and pride into everything they do.

Tung Hing's BBQ pork bun today tastes exactly the way that it did 20 years ago. According to the lunar calendar, the Mooncake Festival is celebrated every year on the 15th day of the 8th month, during the mid-autumn season when the moon is at its fullest and brightest. Children play with lanterns that resemble the full moon and enjoy pastries known as Mooncakes. Ancient times, mooncakes were made simply by lard and plain red bean paste, all of which were the only affordable ingredients. Today, mooncakes have adapted to accommodate a diversity of preferences.
I only bake by order and I specialize in "rustic" cakes for any occasion, individually decorated and personalized cookies and a variety of cupcakes and other sweet treats.
I also offer gluten free and vegan options.
Established in 2012. I started baking after discovering that my son had a life threatening peanut allergy. Being constantly worried about what store bought treats and cakes might had encouraged me to learn how to make our own.I have made every birthday cake for my son but it wasn't until I made his 5th birthday cake and had so much fun planning and doing it that I decided baking was what I wanted to do. I love designing and creating every cake. Everything is made with only the highest quality ingredients, from scratch, peanut free and mostly organic. Take a look at my online gallery and call or email if you have any questions, I am more than happy to help.
