CRAVEAbout Mark and KathyMark and Kathy grew up in Winnipeg in the neighbourhood of Fort Garry where Church of the Rock is located. They have been married for over 20 years and have grown children.Mark graduated from the University of Manitoba Faculty of Agriculture in 1977 and ran the family owned farm for 10 years. It wasn't until his mid-twenties that he entered Bible School and then went on to study New Testament Greek at Providence Theological Seminary. Mark has also been involved in politics over the years and in 1993 ran as a candidate in the federal general election.In 1996 Church of the Rock began televising their services on Manitoba's 'A' channel. Since then they have expanded to include cities from coast to coast across Canada (See: Broadcast Schedule). Mark's practical and humourous style has struck a chord with audiences of all ages and has consistently led the ratings for religious programs in every broadcast region.Pastor Mark has a deep interest in the unity of the churches in Winnipeg and is respected as one of the principal leaders of a city-wide prayer movement.

We meet at 221 Hampton Street, just offPortage - one block west of Berry. We are a non-denominational, charismatic, Bible-believing Christian Church (translation: we love Jesus, follow the Bible, and believe in the Holy Spirit). We meet at 10:00 am for a potluck fellowship brunch, then we have a worship service beginning at 11:00 am.West End Christian Community is led by a team of pastoral leaders, namely Robert Baron, George Balaktsis, Andre Cyr and Vic Geddert. In addition to this pastoral leaders' team, there are many others who serve in various forms of leadership in our Church. The feeling is family, the worship is vibrant and participatory, and the teaching is Bible-based. The origins of our parish date back to 1861 when Bishop Tache built a small schoolhouse on the east side of the Red River and entrusted it to the Grey Nuns, who then had a small chapel built inside the school. Since then we've grown to become a diverse community that includes the parish, a daycare, nursery school and the largest Catholic co-educational school in the Archdiocese of Winnipeg, St. Maurice.
