Since 2004, the mission of the Vancouver Sailing Club (VSC) has been to provide adults with a fun and a comprehensive sailing education that exceeds internationally recognized certification requirements for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced recreational sailing. The Vancouver Alpen Club has various different activities and sub-groups during the week. As a subgroup of the club we have been central in keeping the German tradition of choir singing alive. We have performed concerts in Vancouver, the Pacific North West and in Germany.

Landyachtz started in the fall of 1997 when Michael Perreten and Thomas Edstrand met up at the University of Victoria. They had been friends and skated together in elementary school but had not seen each other in years. Growing up on the Northshore of Vancouver they were exposed to skating steep hills at a very young age.
