Welcome to Prairie Places Inc. In 1988, the parents of three women with intellectual disabilities began looking for a residential service to support their daughters in the community. They were looking for an option other than institutionalization based on the values of respect, dignity, choices, relationships and valuing. From this humble beginning, Prairie Places Inc. was born. Today, Prairie Places Inc. has grown to support over twenty individuals with intellectual disabilities in various living arrangements throughout the city of Winnipeg. Staff work closely with the Executive Director, Program Coordinator and a Volunteer Board of Directors to encourage a sense of belonging, accomplishment and ownership which results in a feeling of self-worth and acceptance. We support individuals with intellectual disabilities to enable them to live in their own homes within the community. This is achieved by respecting onés individuality and recognizing the interdependence of relationships so that we can all live a valued and dignified life based on personal strengths, needs and choices

The Winnipeg Winter Club is a private, member-owned club that offers a one-of-a-kind combination of sports and amenities in a 100,000+ square foot facility that can be found nowhere else in Winnipeg. Our membership includes individuals and families of all ages and from all walks of life, who enjoy and appreciate the social interaction, recreation and lifelong friendships that are found, and encouraged, at the Winnipeg Winter Club. The foundation of our club is our recreation facilities and fitness programs. we offer some of them most sought after sports all under one roof, including Tennis, Badminton, Squash, ice sports, swimming and fitness facilities. Full use of all of our facilities, when not reserved for programming, is included in membership - there are no additional court fees.
