Definitely the best bar / restaurant in the area. Great Patio in the back and very cozy atmosphere inside. This is a designated heritage building and there are old pictures of the area on the walls which is a nice touch.
The food is great and it's a mix of Italian, Mexican, American. What I like most is the open kitchen. The food is prepped in the open! It's a refreshing change from almost all other restaurants that prep food behind closed doors (makes you wonder what's really crawling in the kitchen).
The Bar has good selection on tap and there is a comfortable lounging area in the back by the fireplace as well.
If you are looking for something in this area, I would definitely recommend going here.Read more

Visit this intimate French corner bistro tucked into a mostly residential stretch of Palmerston Village and be welcomed as a friend, no matter the number of visits that preceded it. The food that tumbles out of the open kitchen is faultless here: all succulent and tender, falling off the bone, seasoned and sauced to perfection. And all the dishes on the menu come in both appetizer and entrée sizes, so you can tailor your meal to your appetite. The table is completely cleared and reset for each course - a unique touch. Gabby's was founded in 1989 by a local Toronto based family. Situated on Yonge Street, north of Lawrence Avenue in the heart of a populated upper-middle-class neighbourhood, the concept was simply to create a cozy environment that was well suited to have great conversations, served quality freshly cooked meals and offered great draft beer and spirit selections. After more then two decades of fine-tuning, product development, and loads of hard work, we have what you see today. As of 2012, we have eighteen locations (15 under the banner name Gabby's) We currently serve over 35,000 customers a week. Today, we still offer a stimulating atmosphere with lots of conversation pieces on the walls and serve excellent quality, fresh cooked meals. We are defined as a main stream casual dining restaurant with an integrated sports bar area that caters to the community and local businesses. We provide friendly, attentive service in a relaxed environment by staff and owners that truly enjoy their job.
