The YMCA vacated the Westmount facility- Gym and the land lease with the City of Edmonton. They donated the building to the Westmount Community League who drafted a proposal for the takeover and operation. Later that year, the proposal turned into reality and a volunteer Board of Directors formed the Westmount Fitness Club and been operating the Gym.
