Show MoreOur Cutting Board is Heirloom QualityLarch Wood Enterprises Inc. specializes in ?end grain? cutting boards and our craftspeople also love to do custom work such as butcher block or chopping block. Larch Wood is located in East Margaree, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, just off the renowned Cabot Trail. The shop and factory outlet is built along the banks of the Margaree River world famous for Atlantic salmon fly fishing. Our small select group of crafts people work exclusively with the native Eastern Canadian Larch Tree which grows in abundance here. Traditionally Larch was used in boat building and other exterior applications such as decking and fence posts. Noted for its rot resistance, strength and ability to neutralize bacteria Larch has all the characteristics needed to produce a superior cutting surface. The bold grain patterning and the natural coloring of the larch, along with its renowned durability, was our initial inspiration for handcrafting our Cutting Boards . Each individual board is carefully handmatched to create a unique work of functional art.
