My cousin from Holland (owner of a travel agency) wanted a special menu with a capable Chef and a special place to celebrate his 50th Birthday on holiday in Canada. He found it in Slackoni's. The setting on the water was intimate and relaxed with music supplied by a classical guitarist. This was a multi-course meal and each was delivered with great presentation style and flavour. The group was delighted with anti-pasto dishes of vitello tomatol, smoked salmon, mini portabello mushrooms stuffed with shrimp and a mouth watering caprese salad. Moving inside to a cozy adjoining party room we were treated to a tasty seafood fettuccini pescatore. The main event was elk tenderloin in a maple bbq glaze. And for those who like desert, the ultimate..the zucotto "italian bomb cake" Amazing!
As per the menu, the wine was also chosen to compliment each course. It was a great event and everyone was thrilled. Our european guests, so used to eating in Paris were very impressed! Hats off to Slackoni's staff in delivering the service in keeping with the excellent food. Congratulations to all!

Great service and a delicious meal consistent with what i expect from this restaurant. The garlic bread was fresh, the arrabbiata sauce (Hell's Kitchen chicken) was spicy, and the service was friendly. Their Spanish Coffee wasn't as good as I'd expected, but a decent cup of coffee is a rarity in most restaurants...
My only complaints are that the temperature inside was cold, and the booths seem a little cramped.

On the way back from a visit to Montreal from Ottawa had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant on the ride home after reading all the wonderful reviews, and boy we are glad we did. The food is amazing, everything is homemade and they staff makes you feel like your a part of the family.

We drove down from Ottawa because a friend of ours told us about this place and how good the food is, and we definitely weren't disappointed!!! It's atmosphere is more of a diner, really cute, and we had a really nice server!! She recommended The pizza, steak subs, and pitas, so we tried all three and we agreed with her!! Apparently it's family-run, and you can tell...everyone genuinely cares about your meal and making sure you're happy! The sauce on th steak sub was delicious!! Definitely worth the drive down!

Hands down the best quality of ingredients and dish presentation in the area.Not pub food which is what most other eating establishments in town are. Owner and wait staff are friendly but not intrusive.It is pricey but quality costs money. Retrofit makes the small setting more comfortable. Highly recommend.
