If there's any truth in advertising, then this place's name says it all. British Style features hand-cut fish and chips. Fish include pickerel, cod, halibut and haddock served with freshly cut chips. Food is affordable, in the the $6-$9 range. The health conscious will be happy to hear that owner/chef Ali Meghji has cut back on the grease (to the disappointment of Rochesterians?) in what is otherwise authentic British cooking. The also feature regular Canadian pub foods like onion rings, salads and fried clams, shrimp and scallops.

This is the best fish and chips that I've ever tried in Toronto. (I went there on the advice of a friend and would have never have gone here without that recommendation). It's a very unassuming place, with fairly drab surroundings. But the fish is top notch, with large portions at a good price. I don't really know what else to say besides that. It's fish and chips and it's GOOD. (If it weren't for the location, I'd come back more often.) Read more

Jerking is an ancient process of preserving beef, pork, poultry, and fish that was used before the invention of refrigeration. On the mainland of North America, this process is popularly known as Jerky. The early Native Americans of the Caribbean, the Arawaks and Carib Indians, used local spices and a method of slowly cooking and smoking meats and fish over Pimento Wood.
