Interesting and varied new menu items highlight a new season in this well-established eatery. The three-course Friday night special I had was truly wonderful, exciting, flavourful food. A mesclum mix was restrained by slices of cucumber, sliced lengthwise and curved to form a holder for the leaves, the whole drizzled with a piquant apple-based vinagrette. The pork tenderloin entree was three large pieces stuffed with a savoury dressing that was so tasty and plentiful that while I finished the pork, I took the rest of the stuffing home. Dessert was a chocolate/caramel custard in a crunchy pastry shell, topped with fresh strawberries and blackberries. Portion size gave good value for the price which was reasonable for the quality. Presentation throughout was as artistic as any classy place in Toronto but the outstanding things about the meal, to my mind, were the number of homemade items (dressing, stuffing, pudding, pastry) and the commitment to flavour everywhere. We've been to many 5 star restaurants in downtown Toronto and we would take the Log Cabin over any of them. The chef is a master of Soups and presentation. The specials were varied and tasted exceptionally good . The unique atmosphere of the restaurant is extremely comfortable with classy decor that suits the environment. Great service. These people love pets. My little guy was really well cared for. The kennels are clean and cozy. The yard is perfect for those dogs with extra energy. Excellent rates for the value offered!

The decor was ecclectic, the food the freshest a freezer can bring to you, and the staff's language and behaviour charming. The caving ceiling tiles make the dining experience an adventure! If you have a lot of time on your hands for a "quick" bite you gotta eat here.
