Emerald Ash Borer in GeorginaThe Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is a highly invasive insect that attacks, feeds on, and kills all species of healthy ash trees. EAB was first sighted in York Region in 2008, and is now found throughout the Region and much of southern Ontario. Over the next three to five years the Towns Parks & Facilities Division will be removing infested trees. Additional trees of a different species will be planted throughout Georgina, under the Georgina Tree Planting Program, during usual planting seasons in the fall and spring. Feature of the WeekPine Tree Hill Elementary took 1st place in the Annual ''Walmart Pack-A-Bus''. Pine Tree Hill students, families, and community members donated over 5 cart loads of school supplies to go to the students of Kershaw County. Because of our efforts, Pine Tree Hill will receive a $300.00 grant from Walmart to show their appreciation.
