Mar 14 2022 In these unprecedented times, it would appear that we are not immune to the staffing challenges that are currently impacting so many businesses in Victoria. In light of this, I have elected to TEMPORARILY close the Oak Bay location while we navigate the next few weeks. It is my expectation this may last 1 month, hopefully less, where you will find us back here stronger than ever. Steve will be at the Broadmead location in the afternoons, Monday thru Friday, helping us there. You can call to book a time to see him, or drop by and Steve or one of the other opticians on my team can help you out. We sincerely regret any convenience this may cause you. You can call 250-881-8252 to arrange an appointment at Broadmead or drop by there on a walk-in basis. We are short staffed at Broadmead, as well, and truly appreciate your patience while we regroup. We look forward to SEEING you here again soon! Sincerely, Trina Mendria Owner

We make our furniture from Western Red Cedar because of its stability and beauty. It is superior to other wood in outdoor applications and is one of the world's most beautiful woods. Its colours range from deep sienna brown through reddish cinnamon, to mellow amber. Its natural oils provide decay resistance and its fibre stability provides structural longevity. All these factors contribute to Western Red Cedar's world-wide reputation as a wood of choice for outdoor furniture. We will not just grab the first piece off the pile. We take the time to look at each piece; to make sure that grain and colour match. Joinery is mortise and tenon. Screws are counter-sunk and cedar plugged. Each piece is then carefully sanded and fully submerged in Cetol* for a superior primer coat. It means more effort, and there are no short-cuts. These are products I make and sell with confidence.
