The Flying Club approached W.J. (Bud) Lloyd of the Abbotsford Rotary Club for their support. The Rotary Club put up the $700 to cover the budget of the show and Flying Club provided the manpower. The 2001 Abbotsford International Airshow featured the first flying demonstration in Canada of the F/A-18F Super Hornet.
