This is the only GT location I have shopped at and I've been going there weekly since the grand opening, about 20 years ago. Staff and management are courtesy not just to me but overhearing conversations within the store they care about their customers. Many staff know you on a first name basis. A good selection throughout the store and the grocery section is impressive including fresh fruit, vegetables, ground beef, and pork. If a member of store #150 reads this, thank you for all you do.

We were looking for a place to watch the Euro 2012 final and we decided to visit this place. When we walked in, the place was empty, apparently the downstairs doesn't open until much later than the upstairs. So, we decided to head upstairs. It was empty, there were only three people behind the bar (all servers) and us. We chose the table which was facing the TV screens. We asked the one server if she could lower the music and turn up the volume on the TVs. She asked her manager and gladly did so, she was very kind about it. The upstairs is huge, there are tons of tables and a few pool tables as well. There are also a ton of TV screens throughout the whole area. We ordered a bunch of appetizers as we were going to be there for a while. We first ordered the chicken wings. We ordered the first batch with mild barbeque sauce, and the second batch with honey mustard sauce. The mild barbeque ones were okay, but the honey mustard ones were awesome! I highly recommend the honey mustard ones. The only thing I found about the wings were that they were expensive, only eight small wings for $10, pretty pricey if you ask me. Then we ordered the smokehouse poutine; pretty good poutine but again, very pricey, $11 and it was a small dish. The next item was the spinach dip, this dip is beyond amazing, you definitely need to try it! It comes with a large serving of pitas and the spinach dip was warmed to perfection, AMAZING! After that, we tried the brie calzone, which was a huge disappointment. It was just a huge pocket of air, with a small lining of brie cheese and a small salad on the side, very disappointing. I wouldn't order it again only because it cost $10 and it wasn't that good. The service was okay, nothing out of the ordinary. I would visit again and try a few different items. It's worth a shot, it might satisfy your taste buds!

The School was affiliated with Queen's University, but was formed independently in order to qualify for provincial government grants. These grants could not be obtained by the University because the government would not subsidize Church-affiliated colleges. The idea of a school of practical science had been maturing in the minds of Chancellor Sandford Fleming and Principal Grant for some time and many Kingstonians supported the idea. In 1887, John Carruthers provided money for a Science Hall, which was opened in 1891. When the School of Mining was founded two years later, Science Hall became its home. Dr. W.L. Goodwin of Queen's Chemistry Department was appointed Director of the School. A great deal of the credit for the development of the School of Mining must be given to Dr. Goodwin, who constantly pressed for more and better equipment, and for larger and better accommodation.
