The draft Recovery Juvénat was initiated by the Corporation House of Soul in collaboration with the Marist Brothers. First, the grouping of lay looking for a building to achieve a community-based project and secondly, the Marist Brothers wanted to ensure the sustainability of the social mission of Juvénat. The two bodies then decided to join forces to shape a joint project by creating the New Life Charitable Corporation.

On 30 April 1993, as part of the Year of Craft in the Americas and to celebrate the traditions of artisanal fabrics manufacture in Canada, Canada Post issues commemorative stamps five, one of which is to effigy of QFC. This stamp features a buttoned centennial quilt, presented by Angela Perron, Pic-Sec, in Charlevoix County. An enlarged reproduction of the stamp is located at the head office of the QFC.
