This quirky stationery store stocks a good deal of beautiful cards, pretty journals, decorative agendas, plenty of pens, markers and other writing instruments, wrapping paper, gift bags, candles, napkins, etc. Aside from stationery, Buchan's sells high-end gift items such as, exclusive handbags, pursers, toys, fragrant creams, etc. Therefore, it is a great place to pick up a gifts or something for yourself.
The title says it all. I am a big believer in the hand-written thank you note after job interviews or other business transactions. Most of the time, as a guy, even a griffinguy, you are given two choices for thank you cards...boring and flowery. Not at Buchan's. They carry an impressive selection of professional thank you cards and a whole host of other social stationery to meet every need you may have. The staff are always friendly and helpful too. Buchan's is the best choice for stationery in the city.Read more

Let's face it. We all function quite well in our lives as partners, colleagues, friends, and community leaders. My mission is to help you do what you do already, but do it BETTER, and with joy because you and your family are living your best life. A lot of people function hour after hour, day after day using only their limbic brain (the stress centre). We focus on getting to work, paying bills, feeding our children, meeting deadlines, without engaging the upper cortical brain where we process life meaning and experience fulfilment. My commitment to my clients is : to help you rediscover your creativity to find more meaning in your jobs to live soulfully in your relationships. My promise is to help you care. It starts with caring for YOU.
The Oakwood Canadian Bistro is a fun and unpretentious neighbourhood room specializing in down-to-earth Canadian fare and casual service. The bistro welcomes with a chic Canadian log cabin feel, while the name pays homage to the reclaimed wood materials used in the space, as well as Kitsilano's tree-themed street names. A staff of passionate industry professionals ensures a quality, welcoming experience. The concept for the Oakwood Canadian Bistro was drawn from classic French bistros, in which families invited the public into their homes to eat simply prepared, locally grown food in a warm, casual setting. Striving to utilize local, Canadian ingredients whenever possible, Executive Chef Michael Robbins and his team are guided by a food philosophy focused on fresh, house-made dishes influenced by French techniques. The small, seasonally changing menu caters to market availability and the sustainability of the products.
Going along Broadway I have noticed the restaurant many times and finally decided to drop in for brunch to give it a go. We sat outside, we didn't mind waiting for a table there. Service was fine and the food came fairly soon. I had an excellent smoked ham benedict which came with cubed fries and a very fresh salad.Read more
