The food at this Financial District lunch spot stays pretty close to home, celebrating the bounty of southern Ontario with dishes like ricotta gnocchi with forest mushrooms, farmhouse pork sausage and the signature Hawthorne burger. Everyone raves about the French fries, and you do yourself no favours by passing up the flourless chocolate cake. Hawthorne is partnered with the Hospitality Workers Training Centre, meaning the staff here is happy and well supported from on high.
Welcome to Biagio Ristorante, where our tradition is to serve true and exquisite Italian Cuisine; Risotto, Veal, Milanese, Osso Buco, Fiorentina, Mediterranean Style Seafood Grill, Selection of Pasta Dishes and many other succulent specialties
Fabulous food! I have walked by on several occasions and was certainly not disappointed when finally trying their place. You can tell the food is made from scratch and with skill. The real buffalo mozzarella in the caprese is a nice change and the lamb was cooked perfectly. Ambiance was nice and relaxed, not overly noisy. Waiters are very nice and attentive. Wine list is impressive. Biagio himself was nice enough to introduce himself at our table; A very pleasant surprise. Apparently they have monthly wine tasting events too. We will definitely return. Bangkok Garden is located in a historic building, just two blocks North of Yonge-Dundas Square and has been serving authentic Thai cuisine for 35 years, including silky curries, hot and mild stir fries, exotic soups, and vibrant noodle dishes using traditional recipes. The restaurant was awarded the Thai Select Premium designation from the Thai Consulate recognising the authenticity of the cuisine and excellent service. The main dining room is lushly decorated in teak and artifacts imported from Thailand, featuring a gently flowing river with a small school of fish and stones collected from the banks of the famous River Kwai. The Bar & Lounge area offers an inviting atmosphere for appetizers and cocktails, and our sunny patio is open all summer.
We went there for nice dinner during winterlisious 2012. Overall restaurant is very busy but cozy and romantic. Our server was running around in hurry and as a result during entire evening mixed up who ordered what, since it was only two of us it was ok to switch. Food Overall was very good: My appetizer was yumm and so is my the other person, soft deep fried calamari was excellent. Chicken skewers were moist and sauce was perfectly spicy. For the main dish disappointment arrived, all main dishes come with rice and stir fry. Stir fry was the WORST I have ever tried, super hard giant pieces of cabbage+ raw zucchini made it unpleasant both on taste and texture. Main dish of red curry was excellent and rice was perfectly done. Basil beef was amazing (properly the softest piece of beef I have ever tried in my life). Desserts were good too my mango-chocolate mousse cake was heavenly and banana fritter had amazing crunchy but sweet coating on it . Read more
