The mission of the Glenwood & Souris Regional Library is to provide materials and services to help community residents of all ages meet their educational, cultural, and recreational needs. The library seeks to encourage reading and the use of current technology for life-long learning and enrichment of a citizen's quality of life.
The Winnipeg Library Foundation, Inc. was established by the Winnipeg Public Library Board in 1996 to develop public support and manage fund raising on behalf of the Winnipeg Public Library. It is an independent philanthropic organization working to cultivate support and raise funds for innovative, major projects of the Winnipeg Public Library.The Winnipeg Library Foundation, Inc. is committed to supporting the library through partnerships with corporations, other foundations and individuals. Private financial support from the community enhances library programs and services beyond public resources.The Winnipeg Library Foundation's most recent initiatives have included the capital campaign to raise $21 million for the renovation and expansion of the Millennium Library, which was completed in 2006. Since then, the Foundation has engaged the ongoing support of donors to continue to fill the shelves of the Winnipeg Public Library's central branch with a variety of materials and media.
