Baluchon is the coming together of a violonist, Anik Paquet and her musicians partners. Together, they pay tribute to a variety of musical traditions that they revisit and revamp while remaining tuned to their authentic styles. With a mixture of songs and traditional airs from New England, Ireland, Acadia and Quebec as well as spellbinding original compositions, these sound wizards join together in an electrifying performance of music that sends the listener on a journey to the roots of the music. Baluchon is where modern and traditional sounds - violin & guitar (Peter Senn) but also hammer dulcimer, flute, accordion, feet stamping, piano and voice - blend together in carefully worked out arrangements.
