We offer an open plan classroom with over 1,100 square feet of learning space. We also have a fenced and secured outdoor play area on site. Little Steps preschool is a fully licensed childcare facility. This means that our location, layout and curriculum meet the requirements provided by Community Care Facilities Licensing. This also means that the number of children attending the center cannot exceed set guidelines. Additionally, the center has also passed inspection by the City of Vancouver health department for a childcare facility.
At Kids By Design Preschool, children are given many opportunities to freely interact with their peers. Children will expand their learning concepts through individual and group exploration. They will be given the freedom to achieve new skills at their own pace while gaining a sense of personal competence. Children will also explore different cultures and communities by participating in various field trips and projects.

Vancouver Bilingual is unique among area preschools in combining an excellent preschool education with bilingual instruction in both English and French. It is the perfect start to French immersion!
My eldest son went to this preschool for 2 years, and we loved it so much, we were thrilled to enroll his younger sister as well. Even with a change in teachers (one retired), we have found consistent warmth and care given. My son has gone on to excel in French immersion, and my daughter sings songs to herself as well as with her brother every day. The teachers are gentle, caring, and clearly love their work. I cannot speak highly enough of them or of our experience with this school.Read more

Children pass through sensitive periods of development early in life. Dr. Montessori described the child's mind between the time of birth and six years of age as the 'absorbent mind'. It is during this stage that a child has a tremendous ability to learn and assimilate from the world around him, without conscious effort. During this time, children are particularly receptive to certain external stimuli. A Montessori teacher recognizes and takes advantage of these highly perceptive stages through the introduction of materials and activities which are specially designed to stimulate the intellect.
