I have been a greek restaurant owner for over 12 years. in these years i have searched around for a good accountant continuously until 2009 when i finally came across Azim Dahya & Company.
in the prior years, i first tried looking for the cheapest accountant i could find. this backfired on me however as after about a year of their services i found myself in a government audit. 5 THOUSAND dollars later i was in the clear, but not after pledging never to set foot in their office again.
from there i bounced around every 2 years or so due to reasons like my calls would never be returned, small mistakes that costed me money, and just mediocre or bad services in general.
then in '09 i finally heard of Azim Dahya. My neighbor had been going to him for his personal taxes for about 6 years and he told me to give them a try. so i booked an appointment, brought in my documents and told myself i would give them a few months to test them out....
Needless to say, i do not regret that decision. After taking a look at previous years, they found countless mistakes which they fixed and filed, after which i received about $1600 back from the government. their attention to detail, customer service and good communication skills is what brings me back every year.
I reccommend Azim Dahya & Company CGA above ANY other accountants in the city to anyone who needs their personal or business taxes and finances taken care of - trust me you will save a lot of money in the long run by sticking with them.

Election time – and you don't have to go to the polls: CPT30Canada Revenue Agency (CRA ) (formerly known as Revenue Canada) has a form for everything. They even have forms that really don't do much other than tell the government you want to do something specific – which is called 'making an election'. For those of us of a certain generation, you probably thought when you turned 65 a few years ago that your employer would stop deducting CPP because you began collecting it. But the rules changed in 2012 and you can't just call and say 'Hey, CRA I am too old to keep paying into a system that barely gives me enough money to stay alive which is why I have to keep working'. They will tell you that you can't call them, you have to fill out a form: namely the CPT30 (not to be confused with C3P0). The CPT30 is a formal way of telling the government that you aren't going to continue to pay into their pension system. The form should be filed a month before your 65th birthday if you want the deductions to stop as soon as you come of age, or it can be filed any time thereafter until you turn 70.
