It all started with my Dad, Darrell, who came from a long line of butchers and was a master at his trade by a young age. He managed the meat department of a local grocery store in Port Coquitlam, BC when I was growing up where I used to help him on Saturdays, cleaning up around the shop and putting fresh sawdust on the floors as was done in those days.

Local suppliers are used wherever possible so that our chefs can make use of the specialty micro-produced ingredients for which our province is famous. Additionally, The Observatory is a proud member of the Ocean Wise program and Green Table Network, a citywide initiative that promotes sustainable seafood choices and responsible restaurant practices. Intimacy and luxury are key elements of this 60-seat venue, where diners revel in views of the lower mainland. An award-winning wine program enhances the experience.
