Family owned and serving the community since 1993....the only place that can display on their menu; NO-MSG. I always drive there for the pick-up special prices. Every time I telephone & I call out the number on the menu, the son knows what meal goes with the number !! Only disappointment is that they have later week-end times for operating hours. Silk Road is without a doubt one of the best restaurants in Toronto. The lamb skewers are perfectly tender, moist, and brilliantly spiced. The laghman is delightful. The lamb soup is superb. The service is friendly. A little out of the way, but completely worth visiting.

I visited this place early on a quiet Sunday afternoon in December with a friend, and a $45 voucher. Even though I had waited over a year before using it (no expiry date), the staff were very warm & gracious.
They feature an overwhelming variety of food, so I asked the server about what she suggested, based on my specific preferences. Her suggestion was perfect for my taste.
The portions were very generous (enormous amount of food for only $9 - $11). It was brought to us quickly and it was hot, fresh & delicious. Two of us had $45 to use, & since our first round was only $23 (for both) we went home with a complete second round "to-go".
This will be 1 of the VERY FEW places that I have tried for the FIRST time on a voucher, & will be HAPPY to return.

This was my First time at a real Sushi resturant , what a nice experience, they had not been open long, and the service was great, lovely atmosphere, clean quiet calm, it was a nice dining experience not just a meal, we have since returned many time and the standards are still high.

We had chef's special sushi and sashimi plate, caterpillar roll, bibimbab. Everything was fresh, nicely presented. I had thick and fresh cuts of tuna, yellow tail, unagi, and even ikura sushi in the sushi plate, it was a nice selection of nigiri sushi. Caterpillar roll was bigger than I thought, and it came with miso soup and salad. One of my Japanese friend ordered bibimbab, and I didn't know it is served in the heated stone pot, it was very unique. The pot was still hot until we finish our meal!
We spend around $60 for 3, considering it was dinner time, I guess it's reasonable price. Also we were seated in Tatami room which was very nice. It seems great for small party around 6 people.

To be honest, I don't think I have anything really negative to say about this restaurant. We visited for lunch on a Sunday, and were the first people in the restaurant. As a party of seven, we were seated at an assembled table right by the bar near the front of the restaurant.
From what I can recall, we ordered the Manchurian Chicken, Chili Chicken (dry), mixed vegetables, butter chicken, and chicken chow mein - looking back, yes that was a lot of chicken - and it was all rather delicious.
