Aromatherapy is not new, in fact it has been around for thousands of years. Evidence of aromatherapy practices date back thousands of years to ancient Egypt, China and India. In Greek and Roman history and in the middle ages we find aromatherapy practices in numerous European countries. In the 1920's a French chemist, René-Maurice Gattefossé, coined the term aromatherapy and published the book of aromatherapy called: "Aromathérapie: Les Huiles Essentielles Hormones Végétales". Today we find aromatherapy and the use of essential oils in a variety of fields, from alternative health, to spa treatments and in the perfume industry.

At Gulliver's Quality Books & Toys in North Bay, we have toys and games that are often not found in northern Ontario. We also have a variety of local authors, both self-published and published. A wide selection of childrens books are available in French (we understand that we may be the only people with a good selection in this category). We also carry a host of puzzles and games that you would not find in WalMart/Target, and cards that are done by local artists. If it is in print we will special order a book for you as well. We go out of our way to offer good service in this regard this also extends to games and such, if you think it might be there we will try to find it for you, if we do not have it in stock. We are going to also be trying new lines and products over the next year. Gulliver's Quality Books & Toys also does readings and book signing by local authors.
