Last year, VPL had more than 6.9 million visits with patrons borrowing nearly 9.5 million items including: books, ebooks, CDs, DVDs and magazines. Across 22 locations and online, VPL serves nearly 428,000 active members and is the third-largest public library system in Canada. Vancouver Public Library offers a wide range of events, including author readings, civic dialogue, computer training, and storytimes for babies, toddlers, and young children.
My first time in Vancouver and of course I had to go to the library. What a library! It was the highlight of my day trip over the border. So much to see I spent 2 hours just wandering the collections, art, and history displays. Next time in B.C. I will be back!Read more

Established in 1930, the Fraser Valley Regional Library System was the first of its kind in North America. Today it is the largest public library system in British Columbia, with 24 community libraries serving 650,000 people in its service area.
