The project objectives were to maximize regional economic benefits and affirm the cultural identity of the region and the university. The main challenges were a tight respect for a project of this size and construction in the context of existing occupied building budget, taking into account the impacts of construction on the operation of the campus.
BTAE has a new LEED Gold certification to its credit: the SAQ Versant East Montée Paiement in Gatineau. Compared to a conventional building, there are 40% savings on water management, 21% reduction in lighting consumption and 81% of waste recycled construction.
