The proposed stadium would be located on top of the 6.5-acre Fountain of the Planets in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Created for the 1964 World Fair, this underutilized water feature is currently owned by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. Great Ecology has performed vegetative, hydrological, and ecological assessments to inform the conceptual design of the stadium site and potential parkland replacement sites. The work includes wetland delineation, tree evaluation and survey, hydrological data collection, identification of potential federal regulatory oversight issues, and development of land use permit application materials. Celebrating 175 years of church services in Troy 1835 - 2010by Elizabeth Nowell.As you travel east from St. George on Highweay 5 through the hilly countryside around the village of Troy, you will pass the back of Mount Carmel United Church erected 137 years ago in 1873.If you veer off to the south to the old Troy Road, you can see the front of the church - a large white brick edifice with red brick trim in an Italianate styles. The high wooden spires were recently covered with copper sheeting. Try to imagine the building of this church long before Highway 5 was constructed in 1930 and had bypassed the village.
