Bau-Xi Gallery opened in 1965 in Vancouver, BC to create a showcase for the many emerging and established Canadian artists in need of a gallery on the West Coast. BAU-XI (boe she) translates to 'great gift'. Bau-Xi Gallery remains the oldest contemporary gallery in Vancouver. The Gallery has been a member of the Art Dealers Association of Canada since the early 1970s, and in Vancouver, a founding member of the South Granville Gallery Association.
