Goldies pizza is different then your usual pizza place. It is distinguished by the pizza itself. When you buy a slice (or a whole pizza) you don't end up with a huge bready crust, Goldies is served rustic style... on thin crust. It's seriously the best pizza I have tasted in town. I prefer the mushroom pizza the most. YOu can see all the slices Goldies offers through their display window right off of Pender street, or you can go inside, sit at the bar, and order a beer while you they heat up your slice! I really liked the atmosphere. The owner, Michael, is a classy guy. He treats everyone with respect who walks in the door. They are also becoming more tech savy, and are adding their listings to Foursquare, and twitter. I checked into foursquare at goldies pizza, and got a dollar off their draft beer. Its a nice place! We have been eating here for many years. The food is consistently good and the service friendly and efficient.
The decor is friendly and and comfortable and the service personable .
Parking, on the street, is usually available nearby and is free.
Some dishes (ie full rack of lamb and some multi-course specials) cost over $25, but are good buys.
Sunday special is a 3 course Roast Beef and Yorkshire (a small town in Northern Italy????} Pudding. Very good.
Victor the Mtr'd, and one of the owners, is very Italian, and fun.
We have also held staff dinners here for our company which have
been very intimate and much fun.

I had a great time at Café il Nido the other night. The Costoletta was fantastic! Grilled to perfection and fresh vegetables. The service was attentive and fast. Couldn't find anything to complain about!

A great restaurant with a really cosy, warm atmosphere. Were there during our honeymoon and the staff was really pleasant. The food was very good, if a bit pricey. Tried one of the BC wines and was surprised by how good it was. Service could have been more attentive but was sincere and friendly when we got it. Would recommend you try it if only for the atmosphere and the food
