Had fish and chips at Captain George's yesterday for Good Friday and have to say it was outstanding fish was really good and not greasy and portions were huge my one plate feed two!!! Really good service, really good food. The fish is fresh and cooked to perfection. They can even grill it if you'd like.
Love the fries, you can tell they are fresh cut.
try the fried mushrooms, delicious.
Place has its age but I think it adds to the charm.

Excellent, first time here and the fish was well cooked. Good prices too. Best of all, if you're looking for gluten free take out, this is the place. They offer all there fish as gluten free batter, as well as GF tartar sauce, gravy and cole slaw.

I'm thinking a competitor wrote the review Small and Thin. Why else would they say they aren't good? I have been going there for years and they have the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. If they aren't a competitor, they should go back and try them again. They don't know what the're missing.

great service, been several times even on fridays when they are extremely busy with dining and take out we still get the great halibut which they are known for.
have been going since 1987 and still appreciate that they hand cut fillets of halibut daily. servers are friendly , not a large wine list but have by the glass at very reasonable prices. very happy with the family fish and chip business which started in toronto in the early 50s. note all salads homemade

Decided to have dinner with my mom, sistet and 16months old neice as my mom was celebrating her birthday. Server had a poor attitude, was not pleasant nor engaging. All she did was take orders and not even efficiently; she did not even apologise about bring us the wronf order, she never came back to check in as the other servers did with their guests. She never even tried to upsell for dessert or offer any tips on what she thought was a good drink. She provided less than basic service. poor poor
