Mia Montessori Academy established in 2004, we offer Primary and Elementary programs that follow the AMI (Association Montessori International) philosophy. We are one of only 5 AMI Member Schools in the Lower Mainland, part of Canada's Montessori Quality Assurance (MQA) program. We are committed to an educational environment that follows a true and fully certified Montessori approach which is designed to ensure the student is the owner of their education. Our name, consistent with our vision, uses Italian as as homage to Maria Montessori's roots - 'Mia' means 'My' in Italian. What does the Montessori approach and our school instil in each student? A sense of ownership over learning, a sense that it is 'Mia education'.

Family Montessori School Society is the longest operating non-profit Montessori preschool in Vancouver. Our first school, located in False Creek near Granville Island on Sitka Square, opened in 1980. Our second school was originally situated at the Dunbar Heights Baptist Church, but was relocated to the Jericho Hill Centre on West 4th Avenue in 1995. The two schools operate as one non-profit society and are governed by a parent-run volunteer Board of Directors. Our schools offer both morning and afternoon classes and run five days a week. Up to 20 children are enrolled in each class. In keeping with the Montessori philosophy, we aim to balance the classes so that each session has a mixed age group and a balance of genders. Both sites offer an integrated preschool and kindergarten program for children between the ages of two years eight months and six years old.

Little Sunshine Academy is a preschool for children 3 to 5 years old located in the beautiful Kerrisdale area with ample green space and parking. Little Sunshine Academy believes in educating children for life. The preschool has one of the highest teacher to student ratio (1:5) and offers individual attention to maximize learning and development. We encourage children's inquisitiveness and creativity in a structured and nurturing environment through art activities, language games, science projects, and hands-on manipulatives. Little Sunshine Academy focuses on fostering confidence, compassion, courage, honor and resilience in children, in addition to their cognitive abilities and life skills. Uniforms and indoor shoes for all students. A firm believer in the holistic approach to learning, Little Sunshine Academy instills a love of knowledge and lays the foundation for learning as a lifestyle to propel children in life and academic excellence.

We provides parents with a variety of child care services that include: Vancouver Preschool, School Age Child Care, Preschool Summer Camp and School Age Summer Camp. Little Rae Kids Club offers a home setting for children 3 to 8 years old and we are fully licensed and insured child care provider. We offer parents both full and part time spaces for each of our programs. We encourage parents to inquire early and reserve a spot for their children 3 months before their first day at the centre. Little Rae Kids Club spaces are limited and we tend to fill up fast.

In responding to the spirit of the child, his/her development can be nurtured and enhanced through an educational process that provides freedom, choice, and discipline.

Founded in 1988, and run by a team of seasoned early childhood educators and Montessorians, our center maintains a reputation of excellence. The classes, full of natural light, overlooks the beautiful St. Andrew's park located in the city of North Vancouver. We are a licensed "all day preschool" which provides quality childcare services monitored by Vancouver Coastal Health.
