CFNCDCommunity Futures North Central Development (CFNCD) is a community economic development corporation that serves the north central region of Manitoba. At present there is a staff of 8 that work in the CFNCD office, located at 3 Station Road, Thompson, MB R8N 1P1. CFNCD receives direction from a volunteer board of directors. For each community in the region, one board member is appointed by local government. There are currently 17 communities including First Nation (7), Northern Affairs (7), and Urban Industrial (3). Alice McEwan-MorrisFounder and principle strategist Alice McEwan-Morris is a Social Worker with 30 years of case management and supervisory experience in the area of child and family services in Manitoba. She has conducted individual, family and parental assessments, abuse investigations, case-specific and program reviews, internal staff and organization reviews, child death reviews and research into conditions effecting children in care in Manitob,a primarily youth who are aging out of the child and family services system. She has authored three reports for the Office of the Children's Advocate:'' Strengthening our Youth : Their Journey to Competence and Independence'' 2006'' Progress Report on the Recommendations from the Strengthening our Youth report'' 2012. Since 2006, Alice has been an Instructor with the Manitoba Competency-Based In-Service training program, which provides foundational knowledge and skill development to child and family service caseworkers. She is also a facilitator in cultural education with the Diversity and Intercultural Training program.
