The Somali Women and Children's Support Network was established in 1992 and has been serving the City of Toronto and surrounding area for over 20 years. This organization is mandated to provide a broad range of programs, services and supports to enable immigrants, refugees, newcomers and low income women and their children to gain leadership skills, employment training, and language skills, as well as to build social connections within and beyond their community. As these immigrant women face enormous barriers such as housing, language, culture, education, and employment, the SWCSN has been successful with programs which help to alleviate their isolation by building upon their social network.
Our mission describes our school's purpose. Our vision depicts our desired future. The principles needed to achieve our mission and vision are articulated in our values. Finally, the actions we need to demonstrate to make our mission, vision and values a reality are described in our collective commitments. We have developed these statements in collaboration with our staff, students and families. They are part of our School Success Plan. Our Credit Valley school community is committed to developing passionate learners who are motivated to achieve personal success. At Credit Valley we believe that all children can achieve their fullest potential.
The RMTAO exists in order to advance the massage therapy profession in Ontario. Improvements in the ability of Registered Massage Therapists to provide quality care will improve the health of the people of Ontario whom the profession serves. While massage therapy will not 'heal', the services provided by RMTs will assist in rehabilitation, promote recovery and help reduce stress.
