Food showed imagination, especially the crab croquettes with a spicy sauce surround them. Ingredient quality was beyond reproach and everything was cooked to the degree as ordered them, no overcooking here at all.

The food is delicious and made right before your eyes. You can smell all of the fresh ingredients while in the store and they do not charge a lot for it! Must try pastas from scratch and soups!

I first visited Allen's back in the 80's, not long after it opened, and I was instantly smitten. So much so, in fact that I moved into the neighbourhood! First I was a regular, then a nuisance, and finally a piece of furniture. I finally moved back to Markham in 1998, and cannot justify going anywhere south of Steeles Avenue without stopping into Allen's for lunch. The food is imaginative, superbly prepared, and so delicious, that even when I'm full, I often look at the menu again, just to see what I'll be ordering on my next visit!
And the patio? Don't get me started......

Absolutely love this place. Sakawa is a rare authentic Japanese restaurant in the city. If you ever wanted to experience what folks in Japan normally eat, this is the place to go. The service is fantastic, the prices are great, food is absolutely fantastic.
