Banting and Best Public School is one of the most northern schools in the Toronto District School Board, located near the intersection of McCowan Road and Steeles Avenue. The school opened at its current site in June 1989 with a population of 358 students. The school is named after two very famous Canadians, Dr. Frederick Banting and Dr. Charles Best, who discovered insulin in 1921.

Since our opening in 2000, our philosophies and goals towards a higher standard of education remain unchanged. With our growth, we have prided ourselves in providing higher than average teaching to students with the ultimate goal of post-secondary education. We are proud of the fact that 100% of our full-time students have succeeded in attending the university or college of their choice, and many have returned to share in their success and warm memories of Cambridge Academy.
