Sydenham Village is a quaint historic village nestled in a valley north of Kingston, Ontario. It was originally called Sloats Landing, and was later named after Lord Sydenham, Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada, in office between 1839-1841. He purportedly visited here and impressed the locals such that they decided to name their home after him.The village grew over the last 150 plus years because of local mica mines, saw mills, and a regional highschool.
