Interesting and varied new menu items highlight a new season in this well-established eatery. The three-course Friday night special I had was truly wonderful, exciting, flavourful food. A mesclum mix was restrained by slices of cucumber, sliced lengthwise and curved to form a holder for the leaves, the whole drizzled with a piquant apple-based vinagrette. The pork tenderloin entree was three large pieces stuffed with a savoury dressing that was so tasty and plentiful that while I finished the pork, I took the rest of the stuffing home. Dessert was a chocolate/caramel custard in a crunchy pastry shell, topped with fresh strawberries and blackberries. Portion size gave good value for the price which was reasonable for the quality. Presentation throughout was as artistic as any classy place in Toronto but the outstanding things about the meal, to my mind, were the number of homemade items (dressing, stuffing, pudding, pastry) and the commitment to flavour everywhere. The Mohawk Chop House has only been open for a month and already I have returned twice. By far, the best burger I have ever had and the steak is awesome. The service is as good as any and I love the cowhide decore.

My friend and I sat at the bar this wednesday night and decided to stay there after our drinks and have dinner. I thought that the bartender was one of the best I've seen in a long time. Not only was she very attentive but also very polite and fun. Good food too.

I had the best bread pudding that I have ever experienced in my life one afternoon at Erlind's, Their Chinese food is very good and not too expensive. The only thing that might bother some people is that you can smoke there. Other than that it is great.

While driving around the scenic Caledon Hills with two friends, we stopped for lunch at Tom's Family Restaurant. The service was warm and friendly, the atmosphere comfortable and relaxing, and the food was perfect for our needs - we didn't want an upscale, fancy restaurant, just a casual, friendly place with good food. I had some of the best fish & chips I've ever had. I couldn't resist trying the homemade strawberry-rhubarb pie, and it didn't disappoint - it was heavenly! My two friends were equally pleased with their meals. I would definitely come back to Tom's!
