At. St. Clement’s Early Learning School (SCELS), we believe that the early childhood years should be filled with opportunities for exploration, discovery and vital development. It is a time when a child must discover that learning is worthwhile, exciting, rewarding and fun. As well, this journey of discovery needs to take place in a warm, secure environment which supports children in their academic, social, emotional and physical growth. VIS' learning environment promotes a sense of belonging, strives toward high expectations, respects each child's voice, and celebrates his/her achievements. Our program provides an alternative because it is balanced as such: It provides rigorous academics in small classes. It makes the Ontario Curriculum meaningful through the integration of personal, local and global issues. It offers a strong sports program and an innovative performing arts curriculum. It encompasses a balance of learner-centered approaches as well as teacher-directed lessons. It provides learners with opportunities to work independently as well as cooperatively. It enables students to develop strong skills in reading, writing and mathematics, and places importance on higher order skills such as critical and analytical thinking, problem solving, cooperation, time management and organization.

LPCI's motto is 'Amor Doctrinae Floreat', which in English means 'Let the Love of Learning Flourish'. LPCI is committed to the provision of a rich and varied program. Some current offerings include, to all grade levels (9 – 12), Extended, Immersion and Core French; selected enrichment courses; a music program that features band, strings and vocals; Latin; German; computer studies; selected business classes; mathematics; science; health and physical education and a large variety of courses in the social sciences.

City Academy offers credit courses which follow Ontario Ministry of Education Curriculum Guidelines. Utilizing teachers who are subject specialists and following a flexible and unique timetabling format, we are committed to every student's success. At City Academy we believe that all students are capable of achieving excellence. Our goal is to unlock each student's unique potential through teaching techniques which identify and capitalize on strengths, and correct weaknesses. Study habits learned in all of our courses will assist in all future studies.
