Sheila is a Social Work Psychotherapist with 24 years of counselling experience. She has worked extensively with adult men and women healing the wounds of childhood sexual abuse and is therefore extremely familiar with helping people navigate deep emotions such as sadness, depression, fear, anxiety, anger, grief, loss, and the not so simple stresses of everyday life that can feel so overwhelming. Sheila is engaged in on-going professional development that reflects her interest in the body-mind-emotion-spirit connection and the ways in which strengthening that connection helps facilitate healing. Sheila has become an EMDR Trained Therapist. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma and many other mental health problems. Sheila receives ongoing training in two energy-body-work traditions, Shiatsu and Psychodramatic Bodywork, and is a Reiki Practitioner.
