EUTC is a Winnipeg-based service organization in operation since 2005. We are mandated by the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs to serve as a social service organization addressing transitional issues of First Nation citizens. Centrally located in Winnipeg's downtown, the EUTC assists more that 1700 individuals and families in the areas of housing, addictions, referrals, counseling, advocacy and other enhanced services. The influx of clients and the broad array of transitional issues indicate the growing demand and need for culturally relevant services by and for First Nation citizens.The EUTC serves as a hub of information and central location for clients seeking transitional support while living in and/or relocating to Winnipeg. The EUTC maintains an up-to-date inventory of resources, programs and services available to assist First Nation clients with day-to-day issues including housing, social assistance, addictions, resources for youth and services/programs in the areas of training/employment and education.

Rat Control CanadaA St. Jean, Manitoba hotel keeper once refused to let his son have a dog. Like most boys, he found a way around the problem by keeping a small puppy hidden away in a grain shed. One morning when he went out for his usual visit, he found his tiny pet had been killed by rats. Unfortunately for the rats, they had outraged a boy named Napoleon Louis Poulin who would later found Poulin's Pest Control.Poulin's Pest Control started as exterminators in the 1940's and was incorporated in 1946. Poulin would later help write a piece of Canadian history; his efforts and talents were the main result of Alberta becoming a 'rat free' province.Poulin's always maintained a high quality and an outstanding reputation as a leader within the Pest Control industry. Napolean Louis' son Don, has maintained the same high calibre of service that his father did so many years ago. Parade Infothe Winnipeg Santa Claus Parade HistoryEaton's Department Store held its first Santa Claus Parade in 1905 in Toronto. The Parade was so successful that in 1909 Eaton's started parades in Montreal and Winnipeg. The Winnipeg Santa Claus Parade has been held sucessfully every year since and celebrates its 105th anniversary this year.Due to rising costs Eaton's organized its last Parade in 1965. Captain George Smith of the East Kildonan Fire Department, on behalf of the Winnipeg Firefighters Club, bought the Parade from Eaton's for $1.50. Thus started the community based format for the Parade that has continued to this day.From 1966 to 1975 the Winnipeg Firefighters worked very closely with volunteers from schools around Winnipeg to successfully carry on the Parade tradition.In 1975 the Winnipeg Jaycees, now JCI Winnipeg, were asked to continue the community tradition and the organization took over the stewardship of the Winnipeg Santa Claus Parade exclusively until 2004.In 1987 the JCI Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Santa Claus Parade began its relationship with the Christmas Cheer Board collecting donations and non-perishable food items along the Parade route.In November 1998, the City of Winnipeg hosted the Grey Cup.
