Cornerstone Counselling Centre has been providing professional counselling services to children, families, and individuals in Edmonton and area for over 35 years. During this time, over 50,000 people have benefited from the help they have received at Cornerstone. Fundamental to our work are the principles of compassion and generosity, and a steadfast belief in people's ability to transform their lives. Founded in 1977, a small group of committed individuals named as the Cornerstone Counselling Society of Edmonton formed a faith based, not-for-profit agency. Their goals were to provide professional counselling services to anyone in need, regardless of their ability to pay. He is the founder of The Little Opera Company, a not-for-profit organization, dedicated to the production of operatic entertainment of high quality and broad accessibility. We started part time out of our homes and grew to the point of needing a real office at Smith and Broadway. Elsie eventually sold her half of the company to Richard Bevan and after a few more years, Marilyn Hunter purchased the other half to become sole owner of Heart Beat Inc.At the time, we needed Recording Resusci Anne's for instructor programs and they kept needing adjustments. We then offered two in-services on manikin maintenance and repair and brought in a specialist Tom Richardson from Wellesley Hospital as the instructor. Our new repair service was created and many facilities grew to know us as 'the Annie Repair Depot'. The natural growth direction for us was to become distributors for CPR Manikins. That product line eventually expanded to include Emergency, Nursing and Medical Training products.Five years went by, the clientele grew, and the parcel service expanded to a small office/training room in southwest Winnipeg.

Some years later, the organization became affiliated with Serena Canada. The name 'SERENA' is taken from the French term 'SErvice des REgulations des NAissances.' Serena Manitoba was incorporated in 1977.We offer a healthy alternative for women's health, as well as for the environment. Couples consider the information learned in our classes to avoid pregnancy or to increase the likelihood of conception. Others are interested to learn more about their fertility. In all circumstances, whether coming off hormonal contraceptives, breastfeeding, after childbirth, pre-menopause, or having difficulty conceiving, the teaching offered by our certified teacher-couples is welcomed by our class participants.Our teacher-couples are trained in Manitoba and are accredited by Serena Canada.We have representation on the Serena Canada board. We submit provincial reports and affiliation fees to Serena Canada.
