Jubilee Mennonite Church is a congregation of about 130 people who are committed to:Reach out with God's Good News;Serve in Jesus' name;Know one another in loving community;Grow into spiritual maturity;Worship God with all we have and are.People who attend Jubilee are young and old; many of us are in our 50s and many in our 20s; some of us are older than that and some younger. We are students, builders, teachers, homemakers, retirees, doctors, nurses, artists and many other professions. Some of us have come recently to Canada; others have lived here for many generations. In short, we are typical of the people in our community.We are followers of Jesus who are shaped by and committed to the Anabaptist stream of the evangelical Protestant church. What We BelieveDouglas Mennonite Church is a mid-sized congregation (about 300 people on Sunday morning) in northeast Winnipeg. Since its founding, children and youth have been a very important part of the congregation. In our early days, our focus was mainly on the children and youth who were already part of the congregation but in more recent years, our vision has expanded to include those children and youth in our neighbourhood who do not yet know Christ .A number of years ago we as a congregation adopted the following vision statement. We said that we believed that God was calling us:To love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strengthTo invite large numbers of children and youth to faith in Jesus Christ and to train them for the work which God has given themTo become a congregation which does not primarily look inward, but also looks outward in order to serve its neighbours and invite them to faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and to participation in Christ's church.There are a number of relationships which are very important to Douglas Mennonite Church
