Since 2003, Arbutus Point Dental Centre has been serving patients of all ages in the Kitsilano, Vancouver area with a wide range of cosmetic, restorative, and comprehensive general dental services including but not limited to whitening, bonding, veneers, and much more.

I first started counseling at the Toronto East General Hospital Walk-in Crisis Centre in 1981, and have continued learning ever since. I've had plenty of academic training, at three different schools--York University in Toronto, Memorial University of Newfoundland, and Simon Fraser University in British Columbia. Much of that training involved discussing clients with senior clinical psychologists.

Modern medicine has excelled in the fields of infectious disease and emergencies in the last 100 years. Although, in the treatments of chronic and degenerative diseases, it is mostly control that it aims for, which is another name for palliation. Conventional drugs, surgery and radiation do little to reverse the disease. These options slow the progression, sometimes with very little benefit, and too often at a great cost in quality of life for the patient.

Welcome to Collingwood, one of Vancouver's oldest neighbourhoods. This unique neighbourhood dates back to the late 1890's. Many of the early settlers in the area were farmers. Avalon Dairy, one of the oldest established dairy farms in the province, is still located here.In 1890 Collingwood had Vancouver's first streetcars. The fare was a nickel. The line connected Collingwood with New Westminster and Vancouver. Today Collingwood has a modern transit station at Joyce/Collingwood, and you can take Skytrain, bus or car to visit our neighbourhood.Today the 'Village' of Collingwood is a bustling and thriving multicultural community that has a small town feeling in the midst of the big City. Colourful lamppost banners run along a boulevard of trees and planted landscaping in the street median and sidewalks that bring an attractive uniformity to the storefronts. The sidewalks are pedestrian friendly and are regularly cleaned by the Collingwood Clean Team.

Our centre offers over 40 low-cost or free educational, recreational, social, and health-related wellness programs and services, as well as over 50 special events and outings each year. Over 400 members participate in activities every month and half use the centre at least once a week. We are supported by a large volunteer team with over 200 casual volunteers and over 100 regular volunteers.
