Mirroring a traditional English Pub, Dog and Bear is a sports-friendly, neighbourhood watering hole located in Parkdale in the city's west end. Comfortable u-shaped booths line the east brick exposed wall, purposely set up to face the bar, which is equipped with 9 flat screen televisions. There are 20 beers on tap and the menu boasts items such as burgers, all day breakfast, wings and nachos.
I’ve been to Dog and Bear many times. It’s a traditional British style pub. It’s laid back and chill, not a place for an event but definitely a place to hang out with the friends and grab some pints. Football(soccer) lovers as owners the screens always have good matches on during the season. If you are there on a day where west Ham and Man U go head to head you will likely see the rivalry as friends and supporters pile in and sit in separate sections of the bar to cheer for their teams. Eating at the Drake - a West Queen West boutique hotel that embraces art and culture with its every breath - actually takes place across several distinct spaces. The Drake Lounge is a hotbed of energetic consumption - not only of food, but of art (the walls are an ever-changing gallery), and events like trivia tournaments and oyster-shucking shows. The corner Café is a respite for busy urbanites who can appreciate the sublime simplicity of a blueberry scone and a cup of dark roast. And the Sky Yard is an all-season rooftop patio that has its own satellite cocktail bar. Across the board, the homespun menus change with the seasons, but the emphasis is always on making dining fun.
The Drake is a necessary stop when out with great people. Conveniently located on Queen St. West, and well known throughout the entire city. The service is always great and with all the different atmospheres offered almost anyone can find something they like inside the Drake hotel. Read more

Pulp Kitchen has been operating a juice bar in the east end since 2001 - but recently, the Queen Street East fixture has shifted to a new location, on the other side of Broadview Avenue, with a 22 seat sit-down restaurant. New owner Alexandro Francisco de Oliveira is making his mark with the new site after he purchased the juice bar a year ago. He had come to Canada from Brazil in 2012, initially to study English, but soon decided to open a business. After saving enough to do so with work as a personal trainer, he spoke with the owners of Pulp Kitchen and took the opportunity to check out the business by working for a time as an assistant manager. The first thing i notice when i walked into POGUE MAHONES was that all the waitresses wore plaid thigh-length skirts - i am glad i arrived here! It is a kind of dark place with dark wood all over. Also it is a very busy and noisy place, i can barely hear myself talking. The waiters/waitresses were very attentive as they came back every once in awhile to check on our needs a few times. All of our food arrive fresh and hot. My coffee was fresh and scalding hot, it came in a generous sized mug too. My seafood chowder was hot and it was very creamy, not bad! My chicken wings were satisfactory, no complaints here! Okay now my Grand Spuds with irish-poutine-style sucked!!! The fries had melted cheese and gravy on top, but the freshcut homemade fries, tasted totally off. My friend who had fries in his dish also complained about the fries tasting YUCK! My other friends were very satisfied with their dishes (fish n chips, liver n onions w mashed potato, chicken pot pie w mashed potatoes, jambalaya). Good service, satisfactory food, unpleasant atmosphere (too noisy)... would i visit again? i dont think i will. Overall satisfactory! Read more
