Situated at the junction of TransCanada Highway 11, of the Ontario Northland railway and the Missinaïbi River, half-way between Toronto and Winnipeg, Mattice – Val Côté is an Ontario French community with a residential vocation where it is good to live.
If you would like to know specifics about our community, you can also browse the Nordaski web site.
The monument at the right has been erected in October 1997 by the Municipality of Mattice – Val Côté with financial assistance from the Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario. Realised from an original image from Florence Dupéré, this sculpture called “The Missinaïbi Traveller” is the work of sculptor Denys Heppell of St-Jean-Port-Joli, Quebec.
Rustic Cottages on the shores of Fushimi Lake, 41 km west of Hearst.
The cabin has been renovated to meet today's modern needs such as gas powered generator providing hydro, solar-powered hot-water-ondemand system and catalytic wood stove, however, it was very important for us to carefully preserve its original state of beauty and primitive nature.
Half of the property facade's shoreline is a rock cap making it possible to fish right from the shore, and the other half is 366' of sandy beach for kids to safely swim and play in the sand.
After spending the day fishing, coming back to camp to cook the catch of the day can be very rewarding. Or stop over at one of the many designated picnic areas around the lake for a shore lunch.
Or maybe you just want to relax. Staying at the cabin, sitting on the deck, reading a good book while listening to the call of the loons on the lake will be just as gratifying.
Come enjoy this slice of paradise in the great Northern Wilderness.

In 1959, Alphonse and Monique Aubin purchased the General Insurance business of Thomas Trembly and Son which had been established in Hearst since 1932. Mr. Aubin continued to operate under the same name for approximately 5 years before changing to the present name, Assurance Aubin Insurance Brokers Ltd.. Shortly after the name change, Mr.Aubin's son, Daniel, joined his father in the business.
As time progressed, Daniel and his wife, Johanne, both licensed insurance brokers, purchased the company from Mr.Aubin. Daniel and Johanne have continued to provide the best service ever since. Their professionalism and expertise has helped the firm to flourish into the business it has become today and reflect the family's legacy.
