Marilyn Hooper is a former elementary and junior high school teacher. Her background includes many years of private piano instruction to children and adults. She was a teacher of Music for Young Children for twenty-five years, and of Music Pups (a program for infants and toddlers) for seven years. She also regularly takes advantage of the professional development opportunities offered by the Royal Conservatory and other schools of music. Marilyn Hooper is a certified teacher of the Ultimate Music Theory program and has successfully completed the Elementary Pedagogy Course of the Royal Conservatory of Music. Sharing her love of music with students of all ages is the main focus of her professional life.

Music for Young Children offers group piano lessons for ages 4 and up, as well as offering the Sunrise class: a pre-school keyboarding class for age 2-4. We incorporate rhythm instruments, singing, movement and puppets into the teaching, for a fun way to learn how to play piano and gain a solid musical foundation. We can teach to suit multiple learning styles: making use of tactile and audio-visual teaching. We strive to instill a joy of music and create a fun environment.
