Starting out as a woodworker, Krista then studied Forestry at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). As a Certified Arborist and Tree Risk Assessor, she spent fifteen years working for local governments managing the urban forests. In 2017, Krista started her own consulting practice.
