In 1981, Kevin and William incorporated the company and became partners. William was an integral part of the business for over 25 years. In 1983 they purchased the property at 254 Coldwater Road where Scott's Garden Centre continues to grow today. Kevin's wife, Pat, joined the company in 1986. Their three children, Stephen, Patricia and Alex grew up working in the greenhouse and Alex remains in the business today. Kevin's mother Kathleen, in her 90's, still loves working in the greenhouse.
Hiring an arborist is a decision that should not be taken lightly. Proper tree care is an investment, while poorly maintained trees are a liability and eyesore. Quality doesn't cost....it pays! Keep in mind aerial tree work is dangerous and technical, so be sure your arborist is certified, educated, insured, and can meet your needs, while still advocating for the needs of trees. Sequoia TreeScape is not just a one dimensional tree service. We offer many services to help your entire property.
Dreams really do come true says Morris Shelswell. 1946 marked the end of the second world war and Morris was one of the many young men that entered the business world. Raised on a family farm very near the East Oro location where the company still operates, young Morris took an early liking to tractors. His father had one of the first rubber tired tractors in the area and Morris who never had a love for horses certainly had a love for that new tractor. Morris began doing custom work for other farmers in the area and when he caught sight of a county of Simcoe dozer working on a nearby road he dreamt of owning a dozer himself. He headed to Toronto in search of dozer, but equipment was hard to come by and it took a few years for him to receive his 1946 6 ton.
