The Labour Community Services of Peel Inc. was created on December 18th, 1979. It is a project of the Peel regional Labour Council in partnership with United Way of Greater Toronto, as the core funder.
In 1935 a young man named Ken Cox, with the help of fifteen other local teenagers, started the Faustina Club. Their main objective was to raise money through dances for charitable purposes. World War II interrupted these activities as they were called to serve their country.Under Ken's direction the club was re-organized in 1947, expanding their membership and dedicating themselves to the promotion of minor hockey in the Lakeshore area.
The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) is the international coordinating body for Ukrainian communities in the diaspora representing the interests of over 20 million Ukrainians. The UWC has member organizations in 33 countries and ties with Ukrainians in 14 additional countries. Founded in 1967, the UWC was recognized in 2003 by the United Nations Economic and Social Council as a non-governmental organization (NGO) with special consultative status.
The Ukrainian National Federation was founded in Edmonton, Alberta, on Sunday, July 17, 1932, by members of the Ukrainian Nationalist movement of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN-A. Melnik), who's influences and vision remain a vital part of the organization to this day. In the first four years, 50 Branches were established across Canada. The UNF was incorporated by an Act of Parliament on June 1, 1950. The UNF is dedicated to the preservation of Ukrainian Canadian history and the cultural heritage of Ukraine.
The Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA) is a national, voluntary association representing Canada's licensed doctors of chiropractic and the 10 provincial chiropractic associations which are its charter members.
